Mountain Streams and Memories

Waterfalls and Picnics

This Summer I guess you can say that I've been a little obsessed with waterfalls, mountain streams, picnics, and trips to the beach. It may be the record high temps here in SC, but I just can't get enough!
I've also been thinking a lot about the memories that I'm helping to make today for my kids. I want them to look back at their childhood and remember adventures and picnics! I want them to savor every minute of their childhood! It brings joy to my heart that just before bed when we pray together, my children thank God for letting us enjoy HIS beautiful creation! This life is so wonderful! Everyday is a gift from our Creator! So I pray that you use this day to LIVE and make some memories!

Raw(e) Flower-o-Rama

The Raw(e) theme this week is flower-o-Rama. I took this picture yesterday. It is a Mountain Laurel blossom floating in a cold mountain stream. I'll post more of my pictures from our mountain adventures later tonight.

Raw(e) Summertime

The theme for Raw(e) this week is summertime...
These tomatoes were picked from our garden just a few days ago.
I look forward to summer for the fresh taste of heirloom tomatoes that my husband grows every year. The little ones are currant tomatoes (the big ones are Romas). They are sweet and explode in your mouth when you bite into them. They are perfect in a salad or pasta dish.
My favorite tomato indulgence is actually a bacon tomato biscuit!
When our bigger tomatos are ready I'll post a picture:)

Fruit of The Spirit

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."
Gal. 5:22-23
We wrote each fruit onto sea shells that we found on the beach this week.
The kids and I are going to pick one a day to "practice" with the Holy Spirit's guidance of course.
We're praying that our fruit matures and ripens.

Two Shoot Thursday

I had 2 photo shoots yesterday!

The first was with a little one named Kensley. She just turned 1 on Sunday. I had lots of fun following her around Denny's Plaza downtown snapping pictures of her and chatting with her Mom and Mimi! Happy Birthday Kensley!

My other shoot was a maternity session with my friend Sara and her family. She works with me at Barnes & Noble. When she announced she was expecting, I knew we had to take some pictures! She's due in June, and is expecting a girl. Congratulations Sara, Bart, and Elizabeth!

A Fallen Tree

The theme this week is "this week". It has to be a photo (any photo) you've shot this week.
We went on a Sunday romp thru the woods, and I got this shot.
Head on over to Sailor & Co.'s blog to see more "this week" raw photos.

Olivia

Isn't she gorgeous?
She's my newest cousin (2nd cousin)!
I got to take her picture tonight in my new studio!
That's right, I have a studio now!
I transformed one of our bedrooms into a studio with lights, backdrops, and a few props.
I am super excited!
Olivia here was the first to test it out!
Thanks Olivia!

It's Tomato Planting Time!

These are the seeds that my husband saved last year.
I thought they were pretty with the sunlight shining through them.
He has been planting 1,000s of tomato plants this week on his farm.
I'll post some pics of the farm and plants when I get out there to take some:)
Until then, check his blog to see what he's been up to!
